踏上乡间小路， Stepping on the country road,

绿树草房农户。 I see green trees, hut and pensent household.

道口吠声闻， Coming to the ear is the barking sound,

黑色双瞳真怖。 The dog’s black eyes make me so frightened.

停住，停住， Don’t proceed, don’t proceed,

切莫前行半步。 Never moving half a step forward.
